Ride Your Bike America

The concept for Ride Your Bike America came about as one way to combat the increasing trend toward obesity in the U.S.. With a few exceptions, the U.S. leads the world in having the highest percentage of overweight people.

The program to Cycle on Sundays--or one day per week--is a fun and simple way to participate and help reverse this epidemic. Best of all--in these tough economic times--this activity is free!

I hope you will join me and sign the pledge. Working together, I am confident we Americans can reverse obesity, and have some fun while doing so. Thank you, and safe cycling.
 

My Pledge To Cycle on Sundays *

As an American, I’m concerned with our rate of obesity and the effect it has on our skyrocketing healthcare costs. I want to do my part to help reduce this problem. Therefore, I pledge to ride my bike on Sundays (weather permitting) to improve or maintain my health.

I’m concerned with our dependence on foreign oil and carbon emissions. Therefore, I will make a conscious effort to help reduce both by riding my bike instead of driving on Sundays.

I support legislation that provides for safer streets for bicycling in our citiesparticularly safer routes to school for children.
